New Delhi - Operation Sindoor: India has avenged the Pahalgam attack through Operation Sindoor. The Indian Army has gone inside Pakistan and killed the terrorists who killed 26 innocent people. Amidst the tension of the war, India has taken revenge against Pakistan and carried out airstrikes on 9 terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK, destroying the terrorists. India has only targeted terrorist camps and has not attacked military facilities. The Modi government has followed a smart move in this. How was the operation? How was the operation conducted? What was targeted? Why were these places targeted? Let's take a look here.
Yes, the Indian Army has retaliated to Pakistan through Operation Sindoor, avenging the Pahalgam attack. The Indian Army has destroyed major terrorist camps in 4 parts of Pakistan and 5 parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. For the first time since the 1971 war, India has reportedly used its Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy to go inside Pakistan and shoot down terrorists. The destruction of the bases of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, in particular, has sent a clear message that India will never tolerate terrorism. In addition, India has sent a message to the entire world that no one will be spared if it comes to our cause. This is the first stage of retaliation, and it is clear that there will be a lot of trouble for Pakistan in the future.
Why was the military operation named 'Sindoor'?
Terrorists killed many civilians, including honeymooners in Pahalgam. 26 innocent people were killed in the terrorist massacre in the Baisaran Valley. In response, the army launched a military operation against Pakistan. One of the dead in the Pahalgam attack was Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal. A photo of Himanshi, the wife of Vinay Narwal, who lost her husband just 6 days ago, sitting next to his dead body and crying, went viral. This caused widespread outrage. The incident was named Operation Sindoor, which is believed to indicate national mourning and resolve. India, which had promised to hold those responsible for the attack accountable, has now done its job. It is noteworthy that the Indian Army tweeted, "Justice Served, Jai Hind" immediately after the operation.
Attacks everywhere in Pakistan and PoK!
Now, looking at how and where the attacks were carried out through Operation Sindoor, India targeted 9 terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These are bases belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, and mainly the headquarters have been destroyed. India has attacked two bases in Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, Chak Amru, Bhimber, Gulpur, Sialkot and Muzaffarabad. This has also been confirmed by Pakistani officials.
- Muridke (Pakistan)
- Bahawalpur (Pakistan)
- Chak Amru (Pakistan)
- Sialkot (Pakistan)
- Muzaffarabad (PoK)
- Kotli (PoK)
- Bhimber (POK)
- Gulpur (PoK)
- Bagh (PoK)
In particular, Muridke, where India carried out the attack, is home to the headquarters of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organization led by Hafiz Saeed, while Bahawalpur in Pakistan's Punjab province is home to the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization led by Masood Azhar. India has annexed these two bases.
The JeM headquarters in Bahawalpur, about 100 km from the international border, is the most important target. The town is considered the hub of JeM operations. This is where the 2019 Pulwama attack was planned. The attack targeted the Subhan Allah Mosque in Bahawalpur, which was a major training center for Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists. Furthermore, there is a Lashkar-e-Taiba base in Muridke, 30 km from the India-Pakistan border, and it is said that Hafiz Saeed was operating from here. Against this backdrop, the attacks have been primarily targeted at these two. While Gulpur is related to the 2023 Poonch attack, Sawai is related to the Sonmarg and Gulmarg attacks.
How did India identify the targets?
India has been very careful in selecting targets to end terrorism. It has targeted senior leaders of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed in its strikes. During this time, precautions were taken to avoid harming any military bases or civilians in Pakistan. The attack was focused only on terrorist bases. The scope and impact of the attack were kept to a minimum. The military strike took place at 1.44 am on Wednesday, 7th May, and it is learnt that the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force were used for Operation Sindoor. This is said to be the first time that India has deployed three armies on the battlefield against Pakistan since the 1971 war. For these strikes, India used Storm Shadow and Scalp Missiles, Hammer smart bombs, and kamikaze drones, which are mobile munitions that carry warheads and hit the target precisely. This is the first phase of India's operation, and further attacks are likely to follow depending on Pakistan's response.
