BAMS stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. This course is a 5.5 year degree course which includes 4.5 years of study and 1 year of internship. It teaches both Ayurveda and modern medicine. Those who graduate with a BAMS degree become Ayurvedic doctors.

What is the cut off for NEET admission?

To study BAMS from government colleges, a score of more than 550 is required in NEET UG. SC/ST category students require around 440 marks. The cutoff is different for General, OBC, SC and category.

How to get a government job after doing BAMS?

Candidates can also do government jobs after completing BAMS. Government jobs are available for the posts of Medical Officer, Ayurveda Specialist, Research Officer etc. For this, BAMS degree is required. According to media reports, the starting salary for medical officer posts is Rs 25,000 – 60,000 per month. But in government hospitals, the salary is Rs 30,000 – 70,000 per month. The salary increases with experience.
